How To Project Your Energy To Your Wrist In Wing Chun And Other Martial Arts

January 8, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

While this kung fu technique I am going to share with you applies to Wing Chun it can also apply to any martial art.

Because the ability to channel energy throughout the body is universal.

It’s not just a Wing chun thing or Tai Chi thing. It can apply to Karate, Jujitsu, Akido or any martial art…

Generally speaking, if you are training your martial art without understanding how to project your energy correctly you won’t be able to handle bigger stronger opponents.

What I mean by this is: It doesn’t matter how strong you are. Muscles are only good for doing the job they where created to do. We practice Kung Fu so that we don’t have to worry about someone being stronger than us. [Read more…]

Why Doesn’t My Wrist Lock Work?

January 4, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

wrist_lock_Kung_fuThe first time I seen a wrist lock applied on a person I was in awe at how a simple move could cause so much pain to a person. When I first learned how to do wrist lock I couldn’t actually get the technique down.

Do you remember when you where younger wrestling around with your friends?

One of the most common holds a person gets put in is a headlock.

Now I know there are many different ways to get out of headlock what I am about to share with you is just one method.

These methods allow you to create a massive amount of pain in isolated areas.

The reason why it’s effective is because the pain happens so fast your opponent doesn’t have time to respond to it.

Instead your opponent will react to the pain they immediately feel.

This will buy you sometime to create a counter attack or get away depending on the situation you happen to be in at the time.
