Tan Sao: Raising Hand
the concept of the Tan Sao is to learn to connect from the outside of the persons hand sliding down the persons arm.
Some principles:
- Create a straight wrist A common mistake people make is they have a bent wrist. (refer to the video)
- As long as your tan sao is in the center and you can use your wrist to re-direct the persons force.
- A good tan sao will help to disapate energy by raising the force upward. This will give you a leveraged position.
The goal of a tan sao is to not push the energy, rather it was designed to guide the energy around the arm. Giving you the ability to control your oppenents energy.
