Live Longer And healthier Through Qigong Breathing

August 24, 2016 By admin Leave a Comment

Not many things in life are easy. I can understand why someone wouldn’t want to put the time in to become proficient in Kung Fu. However, it boggles my mind that folks would rather suffer through life rather than live through life. So many people today suffer through different health related issues needlessly because A. western medicine doesn’t really recognize things like Qigong and B. often times people just never heard about it.

My question for you is: If you knew there was a low impact low cost way to improve your overall health for life would you do it? Surprisingly it’s been my experience that many will say yes but only a small handful of people will actually do it.

Qigong is an ancient Chinese philosophy that focuses on manipulating energy or “life force” for preventive and curative purposes. Considered alternative medicine, qigong is touted to lead to the connection of mind, body and spirit.

“Qigong is energy that is beneficial to the body. However, not everybody can be healed by qigong,” said Professor Wan Su Jian, 59, director of the Chinese Taoist Medical Qigong Bagua XunDao Gong Headquarters and the World Qigong Medical Council Expert Committee. He is considered one of the top 10 contemporary medical doctors in China. Read more…

Using Chi Sao To Train Sensitivity

April 29, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

blindsaoI am not sure why when people talk about Wing Chun they mention Chi Sao and then they go into how Chi Sao isn’t training for realistic fighting situations. Then I usually hear that if you really want to see if your Wing Chun works you need to try it against a resisting opponent.

I am not sure how other people train their Wing Chun but we don’t use partners that allow us to do whatever we want to them to make our kung fu look better. In fact we encourage our partners to try and get us.

However with that said this post isn’t really about if Wing Chun is good or bad. This post is to help you understand what Chi Sao is used for. Often times when you see a Chi Sao video you see 2 people just smacking the bejebus out of each other. It’s not what the intention of the exercise is. Chi Sao was created to teach people how to deal with energy.

While there are times when you can play Chi Sao very aggressively, most times you should train it calm and relaxed. Your partner should give you time to fix your mistakes. Part of what you are also doing in this drill is training your fighting ranges

Like everything else, there is a time and place for everything. Don’t do Chi Sao with the intention of beating your partner. This will only create bad habits in you and your partner. [Read more…]

What is Chi?

Chi

I know most of you at one time or another pondered this question.  I have thought about this for years myself.  We all possess the ability to call on our chi, but most folks don’t really realize they have it.

I found my chi so to speak by applying the concept of the “mind moves the chi.”  I first imagined that I had it, before I actually felt it. Overtime What I imagined I was able to feel.

Discovering My Chi Through Martial Arts

I have read tons on this subject of Chi, so from what I have read and experienced I believe, (DON”T QUOTE ME LOLS THIS IS JUST MY OPINION)

People who train there breathing in conjuction with their movements, like in the practice of Chi Gung, Tai Chi, Nei Kung etc.  Develop the ability to control the flow of their blood.

Taoist call it (Life Force) I just call it blood flow! I also noticed that being able to control your blood flow you are also able to control the pressure in your body. Chi is great for martial artist that use pressure control in their fighting.
